Why EVs Need Specialized Hail Repair
Three things make EV repair different from traditional vehicle repair: panel material (most EVs use aluminum), battery placement (under the floor on most EVs), and integrated electronics (cameras, ultrasonic sensors, antennas, and radar units embedded in or behind body panels). Aluminum requires aluminum-PDR techniques. Battery proximity requires repair process awareness. Sensor placement requires model-specific knowledge.
Most general PDR shops aren't set up for any of this — and most traditional body shops that ARE set up for it have months-long waits because Tesla certifies a small number of approved shops and all of them get slammed during storm season. PDR through us bypasses that backlog while still preserving your factory paint and Carfax.
The Tesla-Approved Body Shop Trap
Tesla certifies a limited number of body shops as “approved” for collision repair. Tesla owners are often steered toward these shops, even for hail damage that doesn't require collision-level work. The result: months-long waits during storm season, expensive panel replacement when PDR would suffice, and Carfax-reportable repaint work where none was needed.
You have the legal right under Texas law to choose your own repair shop for any insurance claim. PDR through us preserves your Tesla's factory paint, leaves no Carfax trace, comes back in days instead of months, and is backed by a lifetime warranty.
On Cybertruck: The stainless steel exoskeleton is unlike any other vehicle on the road. PDR application varies by panel and damage type. We assess Cybertruck damage on a case-by-case basis during the free inspection.
